November 11th...
Derrick is a soldier coming off 9 months of deployment. That means he has (just like every other deployed soldier, I'm sure) spent every waking second of those months daydreaming about what meal he was most excited to eat when he got home! For Derrick, it was burgandy steaks! He started them marinating last night and was practically drooling all day long just waiting for dinner time! And I have to hand it to him, they were AMAZING! Throw in some mashed potatoes and gravy and a salad and we were all too happy to even talk. Even Cael loved the steaks, and if you know Cael that is really saying something!
